RE: Abstract Submissions Extended to 15 April 2008 in response to Delegates' Request

Thank you for your early registration!

Due to requests from delegates, the IBS2008 Organizing Committee has extended the deadline for abstract submission to 15 April 2008. Later submissions will not be included in the Abstract Book in the Journal of Biotechnology (Elsevier, Science Citation Index rated) but applications for poster presentation will still be considered before 15 July, 2008.

For delegates wishing to compete for Oral Presentation opportunities, abstract submission as early as possible is strongly recommended. This is because sections/sessions may close, not earlier than March 25, but well before 15 April.

For delegates who have already submitted abstracts, you will be informed via email if your abstract(s) have been accepted by 15 May (The email will include instructions to guide you through the rest of the process). Thereafter, you will have a month till 15 June to edit or update your abstracts online. After 15 June, the online system will be closed for us to compile the abstracts for the conference.

With four Elsevier and two Springer-Verlag biotechnology journals including the Journal of Biotechnology, Process Biochemistry, Enzyme and Microbial Technology, Biotechnology Advances, Bioprocess & Biosystems Engineering, and Biotechnology Letters publishing peer-reviewed selected papers as special issues, and more journals to come, delegates are strongly encouraged to vie for publication. Furthermore, the Official Journal of IUPAC, Pure and Applied Chemistry, will also publish a special issue of selected papers from the IBS-2008, and the BP Young Scientists and Students Awards is an opportunity not to be missed.
