The purpose of the BP Young Scientists & Students Awards is to encourage the participation of young scientists below the age of 40 years (born after October 12, 1968) and graduate students or recently graduated students completing their programs after April 12, 2008. We are honored to have BP as our prestigious sponsor for this award.

For application to the Awards:

1.Please indicate your application in on-line submission.

2. Submit a one-page abstract followed by a four-page full paper by following the online guide on abstract/paper submissions. The last screen of that system has a function to upload the documents.

3. For students, fax or email a letter with his/her supervisor’s signature as well as the University Graduate School's official seal, indicating the applicant's enrolment status and anticipated graduation date, to the organizing committee: +86-411-84684819 or abstract@ibs2008.org.

The candidates are required to register first and give oral or poster presentations. The awardees will be selected based on the scientific merits of their papers as well as their presentation performance. A certain degree of geographic balance may be additionally considered by the organizing committee, so as to maintain the international nature of this symposium. Each of the 20 awardees will receive a reimbursement of up to USD 1500 cash to cover his/her travel expenses, accommodations and registration fee.
