The purpose of the Young Scientists & Students Awards is to encourage the participation of young scientists below 40 years old (born after October 12, 1968) and graduate students or recently graduated students completing their programs after April 12, 2008.

For application to the Awards:

1.Please indicate your application in on-line submission.

2. Submit a one-page abstract followed by a four-page full paper by following the online guide to abstract/paper submissions.

3. For a student, fax or email a letter with his/her supervisor’s signature as well as the University Graduate School's official seal, indicating the applicant's status and anticipated graduation date, to the organizing committee: +86-411-84684819 or abstract@ibs2008.org.

The candidates are required to register at first and give oral or poster presentations. The awardees will be selected based on the scientific merits of their papers as well as their presentation performance. A certain degree of geographic balance may be additionally considered by the organizing committee. Each of the 20 awardees will be reimbursed with a cash up to USD 1500 to cover his/her travel expenses, accommodations and registration fee.
