A Picture of Dalian

Dalian is one of the most charming cities in China. It is located in the southernmost part of the Liaodong Peninsula between the Yellow and Bohai Seas, and has a population of 5.9 million (year 2004) and covers an area of 12,573 sq km. Known as the "The Pearl of North China", it is a charming and romantic city and has attracted visitors throughout the world all year around.

By Air

The Dalian International Airport serves as an important transportation hub for the Bohai region. Thirty international routes connect Dalian to over 150 foreign destinations all around the world, including Vladivostok, Tokyo, Frankfurt, Munich, London, Paris, Delhi, Sydney, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Dubai, Seoul, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Phuket and so on. In addition, the Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport also offers several direct flights daily to most major cities in mainland China, including Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, as well as flights to Hong Kong. Flights to Beijing only take one hour and flights to Tokyo take less than three hours.

By Train

The Dalian Train Station is located downtown near the Qingniwaqiao commercial area. The station provides access to most of Northern and Eastern China, as well as some major cities, including Beijing and Shanghai (please see http://www.travelchinaguide.com/china-trains/index.htm for more details). You can take advantage of one of the high-speed air-conditioned tourist specials running from Dalian to Beijing, Shanghai, Shenyang, Harbin or Changchun. The train rides from Beijing and Shanghai to Dalian take about 10 hours and 24 hours respectively. The excellent service on the trains makes excursions convenient and comfortable.
