Traveling can be an important part of your life, whether for business or for pleasure. You need to do all of your research so that you don’t forget to pack something important, see what the best methods of transportation are, etc. There are some tips listed below to help you begin.
Protect your liquids from spilling when you travel with a homemade bottle stopper. Before screwing the cap on your travel-sized toiletries, cover the top with a small piece of plastic removed from a plastic shopping bag. This will both protect your clothes from the liquid and keep the liquid inside its container.
If you wish to travel abroad, try learning about the language. You can easily find small guides that contain all the essential words, in case you get lost or need something. Do not assume that everybody will speak English and people will be more friendly if you try speaking their language.
A great tip if you will be traveling is to check websites like trip advisor for advise on hotels and restaurants. The more you know about your destination and the surroundings the more fun you will have. Checking before hand allows you to hit those must go places.
Don’t over-schedule your vacation. While it is important to plan some activities, especially ones which require tickets or additional travel, leave yourself plenty of free time. There is no better way to see a location than to just wander around. Take the time to explore and see where you end up.
When going on a trip, make sure to split up your bank cards, credit cards, checks and cash. Put them all into different hidden pockets of your purses and travel bags. Following this simple tip will ensure that if you do get robbed, you will not be stranded without any money.
If you are planning a trip abroad, get your passport well in advance. The passport application process can take several weeks. Rush delivery is available, but even that takes some time. It is also expensive. If you plan at least three or four months in advance you will be sure to have the documentation you need.
DRINK YOUR WATER! Why when we are traveling do we forget such simple things? Most traveler ills can be firmly laid at the door of dehydration. Keep a liter bottle of water on you, and make sure you drink it all and hopefully a little bit more. Save yourself the pain of headaches, and muscle cramps by keeping that water intake high.
Plan your budget before your trip. There’s nothing worse than being away from home and realizing you don’t have enough money to do all of the fun things on your list. Plan so much per day for food, entertainment, souvenirs, and cab/bus fare if needed. Stick to that amount each day. At the end of your trip, you might be pleasantly surprised by how much you have left over.
Traveling can be very rewarding, but it can also be a lot of work and planning. Regardless, if you know what to do and how to travel smarter, you can have a great trip. So, do yourself and apply the above tips to all of your future travel plans.Other types of sources everyone would look over = Earthquake Preparedness Kit

The point is _to take it with you_, not to go back for it. A kit should be designed to contain the things you are most likely to need in the event of a disaster. If you live in a hurricane area, maybe not a tent, but a tarp to spread on some patch of dry land or roof. Everything in it should be in a waterproof container.
The minimum is water, food, crankable radio, light source.
Jim Beam and a skanky woman.
EDIT:
Any other item would simply be a bonus.
I always wonder why sane people will pay hard-earned money to go see
murders, disasters, espionage, and dark-themed movies that
some guy thought up. If I go to any movie, I want to come away feeling
good and but these shows are few and far between. Tonight
and tomorrow you can watch a real disaster "live" from Haiti which has
just taken a huge punch from a 7.0 Tune in and see what
real disaster is, and how it is all handled by those caring humanitarian
aides and organizations. No one made this one up.
lol, go onto the zombie survival and defense wiki, all you need to know about a Apocalypse…
Also, I would just take the essentials, and my sword, and go out on basically a suicide mission, to kill as many zombies as possible. I wait for the plague to kill everybody, when I find a good place to team up with some guys, going to act like in a war, get in touch with the military, and set myself up as a gorilla, and try to lessen the amount of zombies there are.
Well, basically you need to think:
1. Food.
2. Water
3. Shelter
4. Staying warm and dry
5. Sanitation / First Aid
6. Being able to see
7. Evasion / Defense
8. Tools
